A global portrait & storytelling series
Photography has always been my way of approaching people.
Through the camera, I found a reason to slow down, listen, and spend time with people whose stories might otherwise remain unseen. For me, photography is not only about making an image. It is about meeting people, understanding their lives, and showing something of the person behind the photograph.
When Kareem, ORTH’s brand expert, approached me, he saw a connection between the way I photograph people and the stories he wanted to bring to ORTH The idea was to look beyond the technology and the work happening in the fields, and to tell the stories of the people who make agriculture possible.
O.R.TH. works with growers through technology and agronomic intelligence, helping them make better decisions in the field. Grounded became a way to look at the other side of that relationship — the people themselves, their lives, their work, and their connection to the land.
We started in Cyprus, then travelled to Spain, meeting farmers and growers and spending time with them in their fields.
What began as a project close to home is now expanding into a global documentary series, taking us to different countries, communities and agricultural landscapes to discover the people behind agriculture.
The idea is simple: to get closer to the growers, listen to their stories, and understand what the land means to them.
Because behind every field, every harvest and everything we eat, there is a person.
